I am not happy with my current counter-rotating differential design. I took inspiration from Beauty https://beatty-robotics.com/differential-for-mars-rover/. Their design worked and it probably worked better than mine because mine is 3D printed in plastic. It is time to design a new counter-rotating differential.
As any good maker does I turned to the internet and found this page talking about differentials https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Differential_(mechanical_device). More specifically this image sparked my next design:

This looks like something that will work. So I set out to design a compact version of this differential. I want something that will work well 3D printed and fix in the existing place as the old diff, as I don’t want to re-print the tub.
It took some mental gymnastics to wrap my head around the direction in which each gear would rotate. I got a design that looks very professional and works quite well. I’m on the way.

This new design is more compact and tighter design.
